Workshop Evaluation
In November 2010, we were invited to conduct a season of workshops for business entrepreneurs, administration staff and faculty at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. These were evaluated by the NTU Innovation Centre, under the guidance of the Chief Executive Officer, Dr Jeffrey Nadison.
The predominant purpose of the workshops was to use creative approaches to open communication channels, unleash innovative potential and to challenge inhibition.
The following objectives were provided by participants prior to the sessions:
•How to explore new modes of communication
•How to enhance creative output
•How to improve confident self-expression in front of colleagues and superiors
•How to take risks, think on their feet and make decisions with confidence
•How to perceive problems in a new light and come up with creative solutions
•How to deal with issues in the workplace, blocking paths to success through conflict resolution, anger management & improved self esteem
•How to engage with colleagues, enliven and improve presentation skills
•How to enhance innovative lateral thinking ability
•How to cultivate team work and leadership skills
•How to effectively offer opinions and receive constructive critique
•How to reduce stress and enhance brain activation for optimal functioning at work
•How to shift from a model of “safe conformity” to uncover originality, imagination and resourcefulness
•How to be one-step ahead in a competitive market
Post-workshop surveys indicated that over 90% of participants provided positive feedback regarding the sessions achieving their stated objectives; believed the workshops were well designed and organised; acknowledged the facilitators having good knowledge and practical understanding of the subject matter; agreed that the facilitators were effective in communicating ideas and concepts; acknowledged that the facilitators were able to stimulate and maintain interest throughout the workshop.
